5 Must-Have Supplements to Survive the Holiday Season

The radio might be claiming that the “most wonderful time of the year” is finally here, but most of us are probably humming a different tune! I used to feel the exact opposite of “wonderful” during the winter months before I found out about the 5 must-have holiday supplements I’m about to share with you.

Because let’s face it.

Between the cooking, the planning, the shopping, the wrapping, the overtime at the office, and the holiday parties, travel, and events to attend…

Most women are sick, exhausted, and overweight before the holidays are even over!

Not only that, we are the driving force behind everything that happens with our family. It’s on us to show up every day regardless of how we feel. Which is why without the right supplements and self-care, we end up in such disarray.

But it does NOT have to be this way for you this year

You can sail through the holidays without completely falling apart.

And I’m about to show you how!

The supplements below have worked wonders for me year after year—and I’m confident they will deliver the goods for you this holiday season, too. They are the KEY to keeping your immune system rocking, stress levels to a minimum, and your hormones, brainpower, energy, and metabolism ALL in check.

I highly recommend doing what I am doing—which is taking these supplements every morning and evening, especially while traveling

Ready or not…

Here are my 5 must-have supplements to survive the holiday season

#1 – Vitamin D

Vitamin D is an absolute must-have supplement.

It’s especially important to take during the winter months—when we don’t get nearly enough sunshine (which is how bodies get this vitamin naturally).

On top of that, most women are severely deficient in vitamin D already and it negatively affects their immune function. In fact, low vitamin D levels are associated with an increased risk of upper respiratory tract infections, including influenza and allergic asthma.

Some studies show that supplementing with vitamin D may improve immune response. Research suggests that taking this vitamin may protect against respiratory tract infections.

In a recent U.S. study of almost 19,000 subjects, participants with lower vitamin D levels were more likely than their counterparts to self-report having an upper respiratory tract infection within the past few days.

This was observable even adjusting for age, gender, and other variables.

PLUS, individuals who maintained a sufficient level of vitamin D appeared to be more protected against influenza and the common cold. Even with season variations, the association between low vitamin D levels and higher rates of infection held.

The recommended dosage is 5,000 IU to 10,000 IU a day, depending on how deficient you are.

For example, despite taking a multivitamin for years with 1000 IU of vitamin D3, I was on the very low to normal side, which I consider a problem.  I started to take 5000 IUs of Vitamin D3 with K1 and K2—and the next time I tested my levels, approximately 4 months later, I was in the optimal normal range.

Because of this I researched, sourced, and started carrying one of my most popular supplements (Vitamin D Complete) that has 5000 IU along with highly bioavailable forms of K1 and K2.

It was important for me to have a supplement that actually moved the needle on labs.

And here’s a personal tip:

For those days when you feel something coming on, like a cold, consider upping your dosage to 50,000+ IU  of vitamin D (with K2) for the first 2 days and then keep it at a steady dosage of 10,000 IU until you are feeling better.

#2 – B Vitamins, especially B6, B5, B9 and B12

Energy is the ultimate currency when it comes to the holidays.

Without energy, you’re in big trouble…

And like Vitamin D, most women are super deficient in most of the B vitamins—especially the one that’s most important for energy production (vitamin B12).

We also burn through B vitamins extremely fast during the holidays due to the excess stress on our bodies.

Thankfully, each B vitamin has a critical part to play in energizing the body on a cellular level and regulating hundreds of biological responses. An activated B Complex vitamin (like my Activated B Complete) can help you quickly overcome any deficiencies and sustain all-day energy throughout the holidays.

  • Riboflavin (B2) helps break down fats and medication.
  • Vitamin B5 aids with energy production and fighting off infection.
  • Vitamin B6 helps fight off infections and is needed for the cells to function within the body
  • Folic acid (B9) is helpful during pregnancy to prevent birth defects. It also helps with cell growth and formation.
  • Vitamin B12 improves nerve cells, energy production, and can reduce the risk of developing anemia.

All of the B vitamins are essential to the immune system.

There isn’t a day when I don’t take a B Complex because it is always needed in the body for the most critical reactions and processes—and you can never have “too much” of it.

My methylated Activated B Complete gets the job done and I take it every morning for an instant energy boost. It pairs really well with Vitamin C and Magnesium.

Which leads me to the next supplement…

#3 – Magnesium Bisglycinate

This super-mineral should always be at the top of everyone’s holiday list.

Hands down, magnesium is one of the most critical nutrients our bodies need to run over 500 biochemical reactions—with many tied to our immunity.

But like the first two nutrients on this list, more than 50% of women are severely deficient in magnesium—which doesn’t bode well for energy, hormones, sleep, stress, metabolism, and even your mood.

That’s because magnesium is a powerhouse that bolsters every system in your body.

Plus, when paired with Vitamin D, magnesium can ALSO help strengthen your body’s immune system, fight germs and infections, and reduce inflammationsomething we ALL need during the winter months.

And I specifically recommend magnesium bisglycinate (which you can find in my Magnesium Restore) because it’s one the most highly absorbable forms of magnesium AND it helps to calm, soothe, and restore your entire body (including your brain!).

Just a few perks of taking magnesium glycinate include:

  • Boosting your mood
  • Improving sleep quality
  • Facilitating energy production
  • Balancing hormones
  • Regulating metabolism and blood sugar
  • Enhancing bone and heart health
  • Strengthening the immune system

Another major benefit of combining magnesium glycinate with vitamin D is that together, they can enhance your immune response—lending support to how your body responds to germs and infections. Essentially, they help you protect yourself and support your efforts to be healthy.

Some studies have also shown that vitamin D may stimulate the intestinal absorption of magnesium, helping the magnesium to take effect in the body. Therefore, magnesium derives some of its immune system benefits partly from its influence on vitamin D activity.

In other words, you really don’t want to take one without the other!

Plus…

3 of my 5 best selling supplements since 2021 have been Magnesium Restore, Activated B Complete, and Vitamin D Complete because they are all so critical for hormone function, energy support and immune function.

Now for the mega must-have supplement to survive the holiday season…

#4 – Hormone Balance

If I had to pick just one supplement for you to start taking during the holidays, it would be Hormone Balance.

Not only is this my #1 most-recommended supplement for women over 40…

It can actually make the biggest difference in how you feel, especially during this time of the year—when the stress, junk food, and stubborn weight starts piling on with no end in sight. Which totally wrecks the delicate balance of progesterone and estrogen when you need it most!

Thanks to miraculous ingredients like DIM, Black Cohosh, Green Tea Extract, Chasteberry (Vitex), and others…

This mega supplement really is a woman’s dream come holiday time.

That’s because Hormone Balance addresses your hormone health from a couple different angles: hormone production AND hormone elimination.

Here’s a quick dive into the science…

As a woman, your body requires a delicate balance of estrogen and progesterone in order to feel your best. However, once we hit age 35-40+, this balance is disrupted, often by having too much estrogen (or dangerous estrogen metabolites) in relation to progesterone.

This is a recipe for hormone chaos that results in stubborn weight, PMS, migraines, and pain throughout your body known as estrogen dominance.

In order to keep your body in balance, you need to do 2 things:

  1. Optimize progesterone production (by supporting healthy adrenals, stress responses, and hormone communication pathways)
  2. Boost estrogen detoxification (by supporting your liver)

The great thing about Hormone Balance is it works on BOTH of these areas in one convenient supplement!

This is a non-negotiable for me all year—but I’m especially diligent and consistent during the winter months.

#5 – Adrenal Love

And lastly, I want to get real about holiday stress.

It really is no joke and every year it seems to get worse. The vicious cycle has made it harder and harder for women to stay on their game in all aspects of their life—be it at home, work, or out and about at family gatherings.

The typical day-to-day stress compounds during the holiday season and sends your cortisol levels skyrocketing…

And it can totally rob you of your energy.

I’ve spent years in fight-or-flight / survival mode and know how awful it can be to wake up every day feeling drained, foggy, and emotional.

That’s where my Adrenal Love comes in to save the day!

Many energy supplements on the market today are filled with ingredients that give you that energized “high” you so desperately need — but at a price.

If you’ve tried to compensate for your lack of energy with other energy support supplements, or you’ve just gone the route of caffeine and energy drinks, you’re likely feeling that something is lacking.

What Adrenal Love does differently is support energy production from the source—not just mask your fatigue with a “bandaid” energy high.

Instead, the herbs and nutrients in Adrenal Love optimize cellular energy production, cortisol balance, metabolism, and more innate mechanisms in your body that are designed to produce energy.

And trust me, this means that you get all the energy and stress relief benefits—without the jitters and crashes that come from the artificial energy sources!

It really is the perfect holiday supplement and definitely a must-have to survive the winter season.

The Bottom Line

I know these 5 supplements can make the difference for you!

If you want to avoid feeling drained and sluggish and sick, and instead ready to rock the holidays feeling energized, stress-resilient, and balanced—now you have the tools (and information!) to get the job done.

Have a very safe, happy, and healthy holiday season!
