Episode Summary

Ready for a judgment-free conversation about GLP-1 agonists and what they can truly offer midlife women seeking better energy, metabolic health, and longevity?

In this podcast, hormone and nutrition expert Ashley Koff joins me to break down the noise and misinformation around GLP-1s, reframing them as one possible tool—not a magic fix—within a much bigger picture of whole-body health.

Ashley shares how to advocate for yourself as an empowered patient, ask better questions, and partner more effectively with your healthcare provider with confidence.

We also dive into why nutrition and lifestyle are essential foundations for optimizing hormones, whether you’re using GLP-1s or not. Most importantly, we emphasize listening to your body and making informed choices that support long-term vitality.

If you’re curious about GLP-1s and want clear, compassionate guidance for midlife health, this is a must-listen episode!

QUOTES

“That means your weight-health hormones are going to be impacted. And let’s look at this whole thing systemically– I think there’s a lot of ways we can go in this, but one of the things I’m very concerned about is the way that people are being judged.”

“I think in that way the biggest answer I would have for you is for us to stop blaming the medication for working the way the medication is supposed to work. And this is where I think the physician and dietician collaboration, comes in and says, actually, these are all the things that we need to experiment with or we need to explore, investigate if this is what your outcome is on the medication.”

QUOTES

“You don’t judge a tree for its leaves falling off in autumn– don’t judge yourself for moving into a new season of life.”

“We can sometimes fail to see that the small things make a massive difference, whereas in other areas of life, you will do small things with your partner, with your son, with your daughter, and you know that they compound– putting them to bed, reading the story, having that time, you know that these small little things add up to building up that relationship and making it stronger. But with exercise, it’s very easy to take an all or nothing approach.”

Episode Summary

Hormone replacement therapy education is all the talk these days. But how do you cut through all the noise and get the right care for you?

Expert in the field, Dr. Sarah Daccarett joins the podcast to get straight to the point about how the CORRECT hormone replacement methods can do more than just symptom management.

We want you to feel GOOD in midlife, not just symptom-free. A lot of providers aren’t knowledgeable or confident enough in HRT options, leaving you with a one-size-fits-all treatment plan. And sadly, this causes thousands of women to be totally underdosed.

But Dr. Sarah offers something different that can potentially give some standardization for you. You can get predictable products and services at her company, Inner Balance.

With a clinical team to check in with, and less HRT side effects than other formulations, Inner Balance is a safe and massively effective option for managing your midlife hormone symptoms.

Tune in here and learn how to get maximum benefit from hormone replacement therapy to live your brightest life!

Dr. Sarah Daccarett, MD

After treating thousands of women who felt ignored with their symptoms or who were totally misdiagnosed, Dr. Sarah realized the healthcare system wasn’t built for women, so she built something new. She’s the CEO and founder of Inner Balance- a medical approach to female biology that works with women’s bodies. 6. The neuroprotective benefits of hormone replacement
  7. Why so many women are underdosed with hormones
  8. About Dr. Sarah Daccarett’s company, Inner Balance

QUOTES

“It’s because women need to understand that this convoluted messaging they’re getting is suppressing them. It’s keeping them misinformed and it’s keeping them from living probably their fullest potential.”

“A take home message for anybody listening is that it’s not just the hormones that matter. It’s the way you’re trying to get them into the body. Unfortunately, we’re all having to turn into hormone experts because doctors are not figuring it out for us, so we’re doing it ourselves.”

“Women, if you want to treat estrogen dominance, you should make sure that your estrogen is actually [high] enough that all these chemicals can’t bind. Then you have enough progesterone to counterbalance it. So the treatment is not to lower estrogen, but to actually take it and then you’ll feel better.”

QUOTES

“Symptoms and changes in the body are a result of fluctuating and declining hormones that have far-reaching effects on many important systems– the brain, heart, metabolism, bones, and muscles, to name a few.”

“My goal with this book is to help women gain a greater understanding of the impact of hormone shifts, as well as changes in metabolism and blood sugar on every aspect of their health. That way, they can target these areas and confidently approach the second half of life feeling strong, resilient, and energized.”

“Perimenopause forces us to confront challenges in a whole new way because what worked before no longer does, and ultimately, I think that’s a good thing because we learn to prioritize what really matters and let go of what doesn’t serve us anymore.”
