Episode Summary:
Learning how to master the balance of self-care is something that so many of us crave, and today I am joined by a woman who has done just that, Brianne Hovey. Brianne believes that our belief system, and receiving merit based on what you do for others, has skewed our minds and bodies into self-care sabotage. She is on a mission to help you change your beliefs and therefore change your goals and your impact on the world around you.
By rewriting your belief system you can begin to take care of yourself and therefore take care of the world. Today we are dismissing myths about self-care, stressing the importance of how you talk to yourself, and how to listen to what your mind, body, and heart needs to be happy.
It is okay to put yourself first and express love for yourself. Daily gratitude practices, learning how to delegate and holding 100% accountability for yourself are all ways in which you can begin to take better care of yourself. We have the answers to what our bodies and minds need to flourish inside of each and every one of us, and it’s time to start listening.

Quotes:
“And in that moment it was like this light bulb clicked on for me that I have to wake up and not feel like I have to be everything to everyone. And that I put everybody before me, which means I put everybody before my own self-care.” (10:45)
“What my life mission has become is how could I take care of myself every single day, how can I love myself so much so that I teach other people how to love themselves that way as well, because it is a mirror.” (12:18)
“It’s about looking at new truths. The real reframe I think is looking at what do you want to believe and realizing you have the power to choose that belief.” (19:59)
“Such a huge part of your success in self-care is listening to your feelings, how are you feeling, and then setting stronger boundaries to support you and upleveling your own self-care.” (30:47)
“I finally realized that it’s okay to take care of myself, it’s okay to go within, and now my intuition can lead the way instead of me being lead by where life would take you if you aren’t in charge.” (38:17)
