2023 is winding down and it’s time to start thinking about how you’re going to make 2024 your best year yet… Because that’s exactly what you deserve and today, I’m going to show you how to make it happen with 5 EASY New Year’s Resolutions that are worth the squeeze.
But first, can you believe another year is coming to a close?!
Time truly flies, especially the older we get. It makes me want to embrace every single moment I’ve got!
I hope this month, you can reflect on how 2023 has been for you. I always ask myself some big questions as I prepare for the start of a new year.
Some of my go-to reflection questions are:
- What am I grateful for from 2023?
- Who do I want to become next year as a mom, a wife, and a practitioner/educator?
- What were my biggest wins and biggest lessons from 2023?
- How can I help even MORE women in 2024?
- How did I show up last year, and how can I show up even better in 2024?
Taking time to think these questions through almost always leads me to big-time resolutions.

Now, speaking of the best year yet…
Let’s look ahead to 2024 (your BEST year yet!)
I’m excited to dive into my 2024 resolutions because they are habits I can commit to and work toward that I know will benefit ME. For one, I’m so ready to nurture my body and brain, especially after recovering from my post-concussion syndrome this past year.
And although this recovery was scary, and really set me back– it was a moment to learn, reflect, and realize how precious my time and my good health truly are.
I’m taking that as a huge lesson into the new year to continue to do everything in my power to stay my healthiest self– so I can always show up as my best for others AND for me!
One of the BEST ways to kick start the New Year with this healthy mentality (and really step into your power) is with my 14-Day Detox.
We’re gearing up for it already at my house already, so I hope you join me, my family, and hundreds of women as we kick off the New Year feeling AMAZING.
Starting the year feeling your best will help make this your best year yet.
Now, let’s get into one of the main topics of the new year… Resolutions.
Why the RIGHT Resolutions Will Set You Up for Your Best Year in 2024
When it comes to resolutions, do you set the bar too high?
I want your resolutions to be beneficial and rewarding. And most importantly I want them to help you feel good about you…
But when you set resolutions that are difficult to reach, it’s way less likely for you to stick to them.
I know that seems obvious, but it’s amazing how many people make resolutions that just set them up for failure.
Research shows that up to 80% of New Year’s resolutions FAIL.
So take a look at what resolutions you typically make…
Do you actually stick to them?
Going to the gym every day for an hour may sound good when you say it, but is it really realistic for you?
When you set the bar lower with small, more attainable habits– you’re way more likely to stay consistent.
Then, once you’re confident with consistency– you can continue to build upon these goals.
So with that, I have 5 SIMPLE game-changing habits that will make your life better in 2024 without making it harder.
Enter 2024 with confidence when you stick to these healthy habits!
My Top 5 Healthy Habits for 2024
Set yourself and your health up for success when you make one (or all 5!) of these healthy habits your 2024 New Year’s Resolutions.
#1 – Boost Your Metabolism with Post-Meal Movement!
Walk after meals… or any time you can fit it in!
Hands down, walking after dinner is one of the best things you can do for your metabolic health– and overall wellbeing.
And guess what… there’s tons of science to back it up!
We all know walking is a solid form of gentle exercise, but doing it after meals does even more for your body,
Here are some benefits of walking after eating, also known as postprandial exercise:
- Boosts your metabolism
- Aids in digestion
- Lowers your stress levels
- Lowers your glycemic index significantly
- Blunts a blood sugar response
- Reduces insulin resistance
- Improves your intestinal movement
- Promotes better sleep
- Boosts your blood flow
Make room in your schedule for a short walk after breakfast or dinner– or even after all 3 meals of the day when you can swing it!
#2 – Practice Creating A Positive Morning Mindset
It’s time to maximize your mornings. One of my favorite ways to create a more positive morning mindset is to set my daily intentions.
Sitting in peace for a few moments after I wake up gives me the time and space my body needs to focus inward before diving into the chaos of the day head first.
When you start your morning with setting intentions, you’re giving yourself a framework to go off of as you move throughout your day.
Remember… where energy goes, energy FLOWS!
Write out a few daily intentions each morning. Ideas of intentions could be:
- Completing a task you’ve been putting off
- Cultivating an attitude you want to have
- Honoring an emotion you’re currently feeling
As you get carried into the hustle of the day-to-day, come back to your mindful morning intentions.
#3 – Do This ONE Simple Thing Right When You Wake Up…
Drink water first thing in the morning. We all know hydration is key to maintaining balance in the body.
But drinking water in the morning on an empty stomach brings even more benefits.
Drinking water first thing:
- Rehydrates your body
- Reduces calorie intake throughout the day
- Boosts weight loss
- Improves mental performance
- Helps eliminate toxins and improves skin health
- Jump-starts your metabolism
Add at least an 8 oz. morning glass of H2O to your routine in 2024.
I like to fill my glass or water bottle up before bed so it’s right on my bedside as soon as I wake up!
#4 – Make Time for a Daily Gratitude Practice
Of all the things you can do for yourself in 2024, practicing gratitude has the MOST benefits.
It’s also the easiest form of self-love you can add to your daily routine– even if just for 5 minutes!
Some of the benefits of daily gratitude include:
- Increased happiness and positive mood
- More satisfaction with life
- Less likely to experience burnout
- Better physical health
- Better sleep
- Less fatigue
- Lower levels of cellular inflammation
- Greater resiliency
Make gratitude a consistent part of your day by writing out at least 3 things you’re grateful for every morning.
The act of saying (or writing/journaling) just THREE things you’re grateful for opens your heart space and lets love in.
#5 – Create a Peaceful, Stress-Free Sleep Routine
Make sleep a PRIORITY in 2024! Trust me, I know you know how important sleep is. But, it’s so common for us to minimize our time spent sleeping to make room for other tasks in the day.
Here’s the thing… without adequate sleep, your physical and mental health can’t perform their best. Plus, your risk for disease increases.
Recent studies really drive this point home– especially for women.
One long-term sleep study tells us sleeping 6.2 hours or less per night increases insulin resistance in pre-and post-menopausal women.
Insulin resistance leads to higher blood glucose levels and can ultimately cause Type 2 diabetes.
Further research tells us women who sleep less than 7-8 hours each night are at greater risk of developing high blood pressure.
I know you can feel the immediate effects of being sleep-deprived, but these long-term effects can be seriously detrimental to your health.
Create a better sleep routine to ideally get 7-8 hours of sleep every night!
Some sleep hygiene tips include:
- Minimizing nighttime screen time
- Sleeping with blackout curtains if possible
- Sticking to a consistent bedtime every night
