Stress. It’s a bummer.
Everything we do…
Everything we eat…
Everything we think…
They all deeply influence our bodies and affect our hormone production more than we realize.
WE WEREN’T DESIGNED FOR STRESS
Pure and simple – we weren’t designed to shoulder long-term stress. It was meant to be a defense mechanism to get us out of dangerous situations and keep us safe. Momentarily. In the short-term.
We in the Western world, however, have transformed stress into an all-encompassing sign of success. We praise men who are constantly on-the-go and demanding. We see them as go-getters, leaders, and dominant personalities capable of making things happen.
But a stressed woman? Nope. She doesn’t receive the same praise. Our stressed demands are chocked up to hormones or “that time of the month” or simply “she’s a B.”
Ladies – you know what we did next, right? We concealed it. We internalized it. We band-aided our inner struggles with a happy smile and an attitude to rival our male counterparts so that we could be perceived as competent.
And we pushed on, not realizing that we were putting our health at risk, throwing our hormones out of whack, and really taxing our internal mechanisms.
Our hormonal balance is more delicate than the other sex for one simple reason – we can have babies. That takes a whole lot more miracle-working than it does to simply provide the sperm. We have to have perfectly timed cycles, produce eggs, provide those eggs with a perfect uterine home, provide nutrients, keep our bodies healthy, and CARRY ON FOR OVER NINE MONTHS if the baby magic happens.
And guess what stress causes our hormones to do? Shut down those systems in favor of survival.
We weren’t built for stress.
And we women especially weren’t meant to endure this onslaught of chaos.
BACK TO BASICS
Sometimes we have to take it back to basics to realize the true ways our bodies were designed to function and use that knowledge to make lifestyle changes that may save our lives in the long run.
And if you are dealing with some strange changes in your body – unexplained weight gain, brain fog, moodiness, fatigue, sleep issues, and more – chances are that your body is starting to change with age, signaling to you that you had better get yourself in check before the symptoms compound and you become miserable when the hormones really drop off for good!
Starting with stress can be key to your survival!
FINDING MYSELF AMIDST THE STRESS
Admitting you have a problem is the first step in many issues that we deal with.
But I am here to tell you that you can regain control of your body, your stress, YOUR LIFE by resetting your body.
It’s not going to be easy, but with some simple lifestyle changes supported by the healing power of essential oils, you can get yourself back on track and find the “you” that maybe you didn’t even know existed!
Humans are not meant to be unhappy or overwhelmed, or habitually bogged down by chronic issues.
We simply aren’t equipped for chronic stress, the solitary factor that seems to be fueling the majority of our Western society today.
Let’s talk about getting your stress under control. Here are some techniques to employ to reduce the stress by signaling your body that crises have been averted:
– slow, deep breathing
– practicing pauses in your day
– yoga or pilates
– exercise and resistance training
– gratitude journaling
– spending time with loved ones
– self-care with DIY products
– eating with a purpose
– emotional recognition
– empowering mantras
– prayer and/or meditation
ESSENTIAL OILS TO BRIDGE THE GAP
Essential oils can also be an amazing support system for the body during times of stress with immediate results. Two of my favorites for calming the mind, body, and soul are Lavender and Rosemary. Simply inhaling the scent of Rosemary or Lavender has been proven again and again to immediately improve your mood and outlook.
Lavender’s calming esters contribute to its amazing ability to soothe the mind and body. Its light floral scent is more powdery and soft than pungently floral, so don’t be caught in the “I hate lavender” camp because you don’t like the smell of synthetic lavenders found in many skincare products. It not only promotes emotional balance but returns feelings of peace and calm to your body while supporting a healthy glow in your complexion. You will look AND feel better by employing the power of lavender!

Rosemary is not just for cooking! Research has also shown that inhaling its scent instantaneously stimulates the mind and memory, opens the conscious mind, and enables you to maintain concentration. It can also reduce nervous tension and thwart anxiousness and fatigue. Simply inhaling its scent will put you on the road to redefining your sense of self and keeping your calm during the stress of daily life.

What works for each person is different and application locations also vary from person to person but don’t be scared to try out different points until you find your ideal spot.
