The brain haze has taken over.

Brain fog is something that I hear women talk about ALL THE TIME.

While there are many different causes of brain fog — lagging mitochondria, hormone imbalance, stress, inflammation, or fatigue, to name a few — there are some things you can do to help clear your mind when you feel brain fog setting in.

Essential oils are my favorite way to calm my stress, support my body, and help clear away brain fog instantly!

My Top 5 Essential Oils to Help Banish Brain Fog Instantly

1 – ROSEMARY ESSENTIAL OIL

This powerful essential oil is able to stimulate your brain to help you feel refreshed and think more clearly. Inhaling this herby aroma can help you concentrate, boost your memory, and improve your overall brain function.

Simply inhaling the oil allows its powerful constituents to enter your bloodstream and cross the blood-brain barrier to affect how you are able to think. This makes it a great oil to have on hand — add it to a rollerball, diffuse it while you are working, or even just have the bottle nearby to take a whiff when you start to feel yourself dragging!

2 – PEPPERMINT ESSENTIAL OIL

Brain fog often comes alongside tension or headaches. Look no further than to your Peppermint essential oil for relief and clarity! The aroma of Peppermint is stimulating and refreshing, helping you feel like you are awake and ready to tackle your day. It is a great one to diffuse, use in a massage blend, add to your morning water infusion, or even spritz in the shower as you get ready to help you feel energized!

3 – CLARY SAGE ESSENTIAL OIL

This oil can sometimes fly under the radar in other areas because of its reputation for hormonal support. But this is one you don’t want to miss if you are dealing with brain fog and memory issues! Stimulating and cooling, Clary Sage essential oil can improve memory and attention. It has even shown promise in helping patients with dementia! When you feel foggy or think your memory needs a boost, reach for some Clary Sage — even just a gentle waft from the bottle will do the trick!

4 – BASIL ESSENTIAL OIL

Energizing and refreshing, Basil essential oil can really do the trick in helping your concentration! Inhaling the essential oil makes me feel like the fog literally clears, as my sinuses and mind are refreshed. Known for its anti-inflammatory properties, Basil essential oil is a great one to have on hand on busy days where the to-do list seems to never end and you feel super overwhelmed. 5 – CITRUS ESSENTIAL OILS (Grapefruit, Lemon, Wild Orange, Bergamot, Tangerine)

These are some of my favorite oils because their scents are so uplifting. If I am feeling stressed, my citrus oils are always on hand to give my mood a boost. Research is finding that they have properties to help diminish the stress that is so often a cause of brain fog. These oils are delicious additions to your smoothies, water infusions, and other recipes, as well as being great oils to diffuse for a fresh, clean, invigorating aroma!

BONUS ROLLERBALL BLENDS!

To take the guesswork out of using these oils, here are a couple of my favorite brain fog support blends to get you started. Apply either blend to your temples, back of your neck, and behind your ears to keep the brain fog away. Or roll either of them onto your palms, cup your hands over your nose and mouth, and take several deep breaths for immediate relief!

BRAIN FOG BE GONE ROLLERBALL BLEND

Ingredients:
8 drops Wild Orange Essential Oil
7 drops Bergamot Essential Oil
5 drops Rosemary Essential Oil
5 drops Peppermint Essential Oil
3 drops Frankincense Essential Oil
Carrier Oil of Choice

Directions:
Add oils to 10 ml glass rollerball bottle. Top off with fractionated coconut oil. Replace cap and lid, and swirl to combine.

FOCUS AND CONCENTRATION ROLLERBALL BLEND

Ingredients:
8 drops Lavender essential oil
8 drops Grapefruit essential oil
3 drops Rosemary essential oil
2 drops Basil essential oil
Carrier oil of choice

Directions:
Add oils to 10 ml glass rollerball bottle. Top off with fractionated coconut oil. Replace cap and lid, and swirl to combine. To use, apply to pulse points or inhale directly from bottle for instant focus and clarity to boost your mood and memory!

    Is the Brain Fog Be Gone Blend with the rosemary EO safe to use by someone with high blood pressure and/or on heart medications?

    I see that Clary Sage is listed as something that would banish brain fog, yet I don’t see it in your rollerball blends listed for brain fog/concentration, etc. WHY IS THAT?
